    1. I think it depended on the part of the country, the "times," and the families themselves. So I don't think there was any set age. It varied.

  11. I am so upset! At first it was going to come out in November, but now it is coming out in January! Grrrrr!
But that is what happens when you have a real publisher and don't publish it yourself. I'm very disappointed. I just learned that this week.

  12. Hey Andi, did you ever think about making book trailers for the Circle C Milestones?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think it would be fun, and I have thought about it, but I've had no time to get back into the book-trail "business." I used to make them for the other books, but they take a lot of time to create and think up a script. I should put forth a contest for the best one-minute Milestones book trailer video and let you fans come up with some that we could all vote on, and the best one wins . . . something cool. LOL

  13. Andi, do you think you could make movies for your books? At least for the Long Ride Home or the Dangerous Decision. And, if you do decide to do a movie for one of your books you should post a vote!
    [Just an idea!]

    Replies
    1. I have no idea how to make a movie of my books. That usually requires a professional "Hollywood" type of production. I've seen it done, and it would be super cool, but that is initiated by the production company. Say, maybe one of their kids reads the books and thinks a movie would be great. But I don't initiate that kind of thing. Sadly.

      Delete
    2. Yeah. That would be great!!!!

    3. Please don't make a movie! I love the books, but I would want to watch the movie, and that would kind of spoil everything for me!

    1. Please try to stay within the word count out of consideration for the judges. If you go over 50 or 100, is but the end of the world. 😀 But if it's too far over I will probably send it back and ask you to cut out words before I send the story to the judges. Thanks!

If your story is really over the amount, you can ask to be bumped up to the next age category, since the 14-17 word count is 3500.

  31. I know you said a published, Hollywood movie was too farfetched for now, but do you think you could make a movie on your own? You could take the people you used for book covers, have them practice acting out what each of the characters they represent in the book (such as the girl you have on the cover as Andi acting as Andi), and then record them. You could either put it on YouTube or on "Andi Carter's Blog". Are you able to do that--and do you understand what I'm saying? Perhaps you could be Elizabeth Carter or Aunt Rebecca ;). I know I'd watch any Andi Carter show! Maybe you could even do 24 minute episodes instead of a movie, or make a chapter of your book into a 10 minute long show. (You know, I'm just brainstorming, but a movie WOULD be exciting!) Thanks for your time in reading this. God bless you!

    1. Oh. Wow. There are dozens and dozens of road blocks to doing this sort of thing (although I love your enthusiasm). I am an author. I am not a filmmaker. I don't even have a video camera, and the Andi on the old book covers is now 29 years old, married, has two kids, and lives in Arkansas (across the country from me).

It's possible my grandkids could make a movie . . . there are enough of them to fill most of the roles, LOL, but they have nothing to film it with either, and that's not "their thing."

My two youngest sons were very involved in movies their friend made. It took days to film. Then Michael (their friend) spent hours and hours editing, sound effects, etc. Those kids are all grown up now too. And I don't even have access to horses any longer.

Fun idea, but probably not going to happen. Sorry!

The Christmas story that you posted, the story's being sent in for Fan Fiction, the Christmas contest, the short story writing contest. The shout box, all the comments you reply to everyday, your patience, I can tell you have patience by how you answer like 50 comments a day! How can you do it? And being a mom and grandma? I just want to let you know that I really appreciate you and all you do! For us Andi Carter fans, for your family, and for others. Even though I don't know you well I can tell that you have the sweetest, tenderest heart anyone could have! You are so generous to do this blog for us! 1. Aw, Leah, thanks a bunch! I'm sure I don't answer 50 comments a day, LOL. But maybe it feels like that. It's just a passion to help young (and older) readers to have something wholesome and God-honoring to read, but exiting and fun too. God has really helped me get over the places when I am so STUCK when I'm writing a story! And He gives me fun ideas (like the mugs and audio books) to add some cool stuff to "just" books.

I sure hope a lot of readers enter the contest. That is so fun to see the joy when the winners find themselves published authors. I as a youth had no desire to ever be published, but I know it's important for many, many inspiring young writers. :-)
