Andi's Children Part 1: Jared Meets His New Sisters

This happens right after Riley finds Andi in the cellar with their twin girls!  

 Riley was so happy to find his wife safe and sound! He was grateful for his baby girls, Charlotte Faith and Lillian Joy, he was so blessed! 

“Andi, I am so thankful for our new little girls.” Riley said,

 “Me too, Riley, me too.” Andi replied softly. 

 Riley smiled down at his wife and girls, he gently took the twins and placed them into Elizabath’s arms, he turned back to Andi and scooped her up. By that time Troy and the others had cleared the rest of the rubble away,

“I’m coming out with Andi.” Riley called ahead to them, her mother followed with Charlotte and Lillian. Troy, Levi, and all the others gasped, they were shocked to know that Andrea had her baby! Their mouths dropped open even more when they saw the twins!! 

 “Twins! I can’t believe it!” said Troy in astonishment, Levi just stared in surprise. 

Andi nodded and smiled, “Our girls, Charlotte Faith and Lillian Joy.” 

 Riley grinned, “That’s right. Now, let's get you to bed.” He said to Andi.

She nodded, she was almost asleep.

Sometime later they got a bed for Andi, but it was hard to find because of the earthquake. As soon as Riley laid Andi into bed she fell asleep with a smile on her face. They would be staying in a friend's house for a bit. Riley went into the other room and found his little girls, Elizabeth still had them. “Hello Riley, is Andi all good?”

 “Yes, she’s asleep”

 “Would you like to hold your baby girls?”

Riley nodded, he took Lillian and Charlotte and held them for a while. He could not believe these baby girls were his! 

Then he realized he still had to go and get Jared from Betsy! “Elizabeth? I need to go and get Jared! He’s with Betsy.” 

 “Ok, bring him back with you.” She said, smiling.

Andi’s POV

She woke up, she did not know where she was at first, looking around she saw where she was and remembered she had her baby, no, babies. She corrected herself, smiling. She got out of bed slowly, and went to find her babies. 

“Andi, you're up!” her mother said when she saw her

 “Hi Mother, how are my girls?” Andi asked.

 “They are fine, they are a bit hungry though.” Elizabeth said,

 Andi nodded and took her twins and went back to her room and fed them.

Riley’s POV 

Riley had gotten Jared, and was on the way to Andi and the twins. He told Jared,

“Are you excited to see your momma?”

 Jared nodded, “Yes! Momma.”

 Riley smiled at his boy, he was going to let Andi tell him he had two new sisters! Once they arrived they went inside, up to Andi’s room. “Andi? May Jared and I come in?” 

 The door opened and Andi gave Jared and Riley a hug, “I’m glad you're back!” Bending down “Jared, you have two new sisters, come and see them.” Andi said, holding out her hand.

Jared POV

He was astonished! A new sister? Wait did his Momma say NEW SISTERS?! Two new sisters! He just looked at Momma with wide eyes then looked at Daddy, “Yes, Jared, you have two new sisters!” He saw, chucking at Jared’s surprise. Jared nodded and put his hand into his Momma hand. She smiled at him and led him over to the bed, where Charlotte and Lillian were. 

When Jared saw them he just stared, they were so tiny! 

“Was I that small?” He asked Momma.

  “A bit bigger but just about.” 

 Jared nodded slowly and looked at them again, “This one is Charlotte and this one is Lillian.” Andi said pointing. 

 “You are a big brother now, like your new sisters?” Daddy asked, looking at him.

 “They are fine I guess” He was not sure yet what to think of them. He reached out his finger to touch them and Lilliam grabbed it! Jared gasped. Why was this new sister grabbing him? He took away his finger fast. He then backed away from the new babies and ran out the door. 

He went to the living room and sat against the wall. “Why, oh why did he have to get new sisters??” Jared thought to himself. “Momma and Daddy probably love them better than me!” He started to cry.

Riley POV

When Jared ran out of the room Andi and Riley looked at each other, “I’ll go after him, don’t worry Andi. Get some rest. I’ll be back” Riley said. 

Andi nodded, she was tired again.

Riley went out and closed the door, where would his son go? “Jared? Jared?” He called. He only heard sniffing in return. He followed the sound, he saw Jared against the wall crying, he looked up at Riley and then buried his head in his hands, still crying.

  “What’s the matter son? What’s wrong?” Riley gently asked, 

 Jared threw himself on Riley’s lap, “You love them more then you love me! You don’t want me anymore!” and started crying again.

  Riley grew concerned, of course this was not true! “Jared, honey, that’s not true at all! We love you the same! Remember when you found out you were going to have a new sibling? You were so excited to have a sibling! But,  Jared, we love you the same, no matter what. Me and your mother will always love you Jared!” 

 Jared looked up, hope in his eyes, “Really?” 

 “Yes, really, we love you all the time.” answered Riley. 

 “Ok, I’ll try to like them more.” Jared said, rubbing away his tears.  “Could I pick some flowers when we get home for them?” He asked. 

 “Charlotte and Lillian would like looking at them, but, remember they are still very young!” He said smiling. 

 “Ok, could we go see them again???” Jared asked excitedly. He made up his mind, he would love his new siblings! 

 Riley replied, ”Sure, Jared! Let’s go see them and then we are going home tomorrow, to Memory Creek Ranch!” 

 Jared ran ahead to the room Andi and the twins were in, he raised his hand and knocked, just like he saw his daddy do. “Can I come in?” He asked.

“Yes, go ahead and open the door.” came his mother’s reply.

Jared POV

Jared opened the door and ran in, “Hi Momma! I’m glad I have new siblings! Can we see them again?” He was really excited.

 Momma smiled at him, “Sure, Jared, go ahead and look. Just be gentle.” 

 “I will be!” He said then hurried over to his new sisters.

 ****

Andi POV

Andi raised her eyebrows at Riley as in saying ”What happened?” Riley smiled and told her. “I’m glad Jared likes his new sisters now, I think they will get along very well together.” Andi said when he finished. They both had huge smiles on their faces, then they heard Jared saying to his new sisters “I can't wait till you two are bigger, we can do all kinds of things…..” Jared went on, just talking to them! Andrea and Riley shared a smile, all was well!

One day later

Still Andi’s POV

The next day the Prescott family got ready to go home, Memory Creek Ranch. The rubble from the earthquake was almost all cleared away and the people were starting to rebuild. Riley had left a few minutes ago to get a stagecoach for Andi, Charlotte, Lillian, and Jared. He returned with one and they loaded everything up, Andi held Charlotte and Lillian in her arms, she was so happy, how could she not be? Andi smiled down at her girls, she loved them so much! Jared came running up, “Momma? Daddy says we are ready to go! How are they?” He asked, looking at the twins. 

 “Alright. The girls are good, Jared. Do you want to carry Lillian or Charlotte to the stagecoach?” 

“I can?  Oh, yes!” Jared said excitedly and held out his arms, 

 Andi gently placed Lillian into his arms, “Be careful now Jared.” Andi said with a smile.

 Jared nodded and they went to the stagecoach. One person clearing away rubble looked up at them and said “You must trust your boy to carry your baby.” He said smiling. 

 “Yes, I do. Jared does very well. Right Jared?” 

 Jared nodded happily. He loved his sisters the more he saw them! They got in the stagecoach and headed home. 

They arrived at Memory Creek Ranch, Riley jumped down to help his family out and they went up to the house. Jared ran ahead, Andi followed him in and went to the bedroom, Charlotte and Lillan were due for a nap. Riley went back out to check the stock and make sure all was well. 

 

Riley’s POV

When Riley went into the barn the ranch hands were shocked to see him, they jumped up and asked “Is everything good? You're home early.” 

 “Everything is fine, we just got here and I came to check the stock.” Then Riley couldn't resist adding “I have a family of five now! Including myself.” 

 The ranch hands dropped their mouths in surprise, their boss had a family of five now? What?? “What do you mean??” they asked.

 “Andi had twins! We have twin girls.”

 “Good for you!” 

 “Awesome!”

  “So happy for you, boss!” they exclaimed.

  Riley smiled and looked around, “It looks like everything looks good out here, thanks for keeping an eye on things!” He called behind him when he left the barn. 

 

Andi’s POV 

As she watched her husband come back from checking around she smiled, never had she been so blessed! Suddenly she heard Jared saying something “Yes, Jared?” she asked.

 “Momma, can I go outside? Daddy is out there.”

 “Not yet Jared. Let’s stay inside for now, Daddy was just checking the horses and stock. Want to help me make something for supper?” Jared nodded so they went to the kitchen.  

 

Riley’s POV 

RIley came in and went into the kitchen where his wife and son were. “Hi Andi. Hi Jared.” He said. “The horses and stock are all good.” 

 “Good! Supper is almost ready. Do you mind setting the table?” 

 Riley nodded and set it. “Andi…. Do you want to go to Circle C tomorrow?” he asked his wife.

 Andi turned around slowly and said ”Why, yes. We could. Mother did say we could come by anytime” she added. 

 “Great! We will go tomorrow! And show off our new girls!” He added with a grin. 

 “Riley! I should have known. But yes, we will still go.” Andi said with a big smile. 

 

The Next Day

Andi’s POV

That afternoon the Prescott family got ready to go to Andi’s old home, the Circle C Ranch, Andi had the little girls on her lap, Jared sat beside her to ‘keep an eye on them’ Jared was very protective of his new sisters! When they got to Circle C everyone was inside, Elizabeth told them to stay inside because guests were coming. 

 Andi grinned at Riley, “Shall we go in?” 

 “After you, Andi!” 

 Andi smiled and walked in. Riley and Jared were close behind. “What’s this?” Mitch asked in surprise. “TWINS!?” He exclaimed in shock.

  “You have three kids now little sis! It wasn't good enough that Taffy had twins, you had to go and do it one step better!!” Chad said. 

Andi, Riley, and Elizabeth dropped their mouths in astonishment, that was what Andi said Chad would say! They all started laughing. Chad looked confused, “What’s going on?”

 “Oh Chad, that's what I thought you would say! The same words” Andi said through her giggles. 

 Chad broke into a wide smile and started laughing too! A minute or two later Melinda came in, “What’s with all the laughing? Oh, Andi! You had twins!” 

 Andi told her why they were laughing so much and Melinda started laughing too! “You had adorable twins, Andi!” She said between giggles. After getting their laughs under control they went to and had supper with everyone. 

 

One week later 

It had been a tough week for Andrea Carter Prescott, she was very tired, it was hard caring for three little ones! But Andi knew it was worth it, she loved her family. Just then Riley came in, “Riley, can you watch the children for a while? I really need to get a ride.” 

“Yes, you can Andi, are you alright?” Riley asked anxiously

 “I’m alright, I just need a quick break. I’ll be back soon!” She answered, going out the door. 

 Riley looked at his family, Jared was eating an apple. One twin was sleeping and one was crying. Riley went over the crib and picked her up, it was Charlotte. “Shh,it’s okay.” He said to his crying girl, she stopped crying and looked at Riley with her big blue eyes. Riley smiled down at her and gently laid her in the crib next to Lillian. About an hour later And rode up on Shasta feeling much more relaxed and refreshed, the ride had done wonders for her. 

 “Hi Riley! I’m back. How did it go?” Andi asked

 “It went fine, the girls slept most of the time and me and Jared just hung out.” Riley answered, “How are you going?” He added.

 “I’m doing much better, I rode up the creek awhile, I feel much more refreshed.”

 “That’s great, you look better too.”

 Andi nodded and smiled, then she and Riley went inside.
