It was a bright, Sunny day in the gold fields
in California, where James Carter was
working by the creek panning for gold. He
had been there for a few hours already, but
his mind wasn’t on finding gold, he couldn’t
seem to keep his mind on anything the last
few days, because he often found his mind
drifting to the future. In a few days, he
would ask the woman of his dreams to
marry him. He had never met a woman like
Elizabeth before. She was kind, she was
generous, she was unlike any person he had
ever met. Someone talking beside him
brought James back to the present. Elijah
Hunt was beside him saying, Jimmy, you’ve
been swirling that dirt around in that pan for
5 minutes. James smiled, I can’t help it, I
just can’t wait until we head to San
Francisco to surprise Beth. Elijah groaned,
that’s all you’ve been talking about all week.
James looked at the sun, it’s about
lunchtime, and I haven’t panned any gold,
so let’s go have lunch, and after, I think I’ll
go to San Francisco a few days early. Elijah
laughed, you can’t wait just a few more
days can you? James smiled, I guess I just
can’t wait to see the look on Beth’s face
when I ask her. And with that, they headed
toward the house. After a satisfying, but
quick lunch, they packed their bags and
headed toward the biggest changes of their
life’s.
The End.
