Andi woke up to Riley missing. She looked at the clock. 10 am, why didn't Riley wake me? “Riley ?” she sat up, but felt a wave of nausea.
Oof. She stood up and looked for water. Dang it. Riley is still working on the pump. She felt her warm forehead. A fever? “Riley”
She went outside “Riley” she felt herself weakening. “Ril–” she collapsed.

When Andi woke up, she was lying in bed. Her throat felt very dry. She looked around. Riley! She wanted to tell Riley she was fine, but when she tried to talk, only one, painful, croaking word came out
“Water”
Riley looked at her tiredly then looked at the water beside her “water?” he asked
Andi nodded and he helped her drink “wha…” she cleared her throat “what happened” she croaked. Riley answered “I got home and heard Shasta whinnying and ran to the barn, you were just lying there. Chad came with me and he then rode to Frisco to call for doc weaver.” he took a drink of water himself. “ I was afraid Doc was right and you wouldn't wake up.” he burst into tears and hugged Andi tight. “I'm glad you're ok, my princess.”
Andi then fell asleep with a terrible nightmare

She saw herself fall asleep. She then saw doc weaver say “im sorry, there's nothing we can do” She then saw a tombstone that read
ANDREA ROSE CARTER-PRESCOTT
REST IN PEACE
Then she saw dirt cover her. Then darkness. Pure darkness

“ Help! Riley! I'm not dead! I'm fine! Tell them I'm fine!!!!!” she sobbed “im not dead” Riley shot up next to her “shh, shh, its ok its ok.” he comforted “ wait, dead?”
Andi got a little better. By Sunday supper on Circle c she could put down a little bit of chicken.
By next Sunday,she could sit through services without feeling poorly. Her temperature went down tuesday
A good ride on Shasta will make me feel better she wrote
“Riley” she yelled, already in her split skirt “Lets go on a ride. I'll saddle up Shasta”
“No.”
“Why not? If you don't go, I still am”
“Nuh uh. Doc weaver said take it easy”
“ i will”
“I know you won't."
Andi gasps at her husband's accusing words. Andi grabs a full egg basket and dumps it on Riley's head “I know you will have a fun time without me for… Forever!” she fumed
She saddled up Shasta and swung into the saddle. She kicked the young colt to move forward but he didn't budge. “All my boys hate me today.” she used the racing whip she never uses. Shasta whinnied and moved forward “To the circle C!” she whipped
Once she got there Chad answered the door “ hey lil sist-” he was interrupted “Move chad.” She said angrily. “ Im staying the night”
Luisa and Nila said “Andi! Do you want some tamales?” Andi accepted . She can't resist their tamales.
A while and 2 tamales later, Luisa asked “Andi, donde esta your husband?”
“ a fight.”
Gasps “who won?”
“ I did.” Andi grinned
That night Andi had another nightmare
She was at Procopio the red handed’s hideout
Riley showed up, but instead of helping her, he helped kill her “No! No NO NOOOO!”
God, she prayed if you're there, please bring Riley here. Ame-
Knock knock knock “Andrea, you have a visitor. Can we come in?”
“Yes”
Her mother walked in and after her was Riley.
Andi shot up and hugged Riley
“I had a dream”
“Uh huh”
“ we were at procopios, you were there but you…”
“What’d i do”
“You shot me”
“What?”
Andi cried hard and said “ im sorry about the eggs”
“Its ok “
