JUNE 2026 FLASH FICTION STORIES

I received 23 stories and these are so good! Once again, Donna Alice Patton showed her worth by choosing the winner, even though it was hard and she went back and forth until settling on this one.

AND THE WINNER IS . . . HADASSSAH W.
She won a $10 Amazon digital gift card. Here is her story:

The Phantom Fish . . . Hadassah W.

She told me a very close runner-up was this story by Sofia.

In case it's hard to read the prompts, here they are:

Rainy Day Discovery: While searching the attic one Sunday afternoon, Andi uncovers a small, painted cradle tucked beside a trunk--with a baby's name handwritten on the side--a name Andi had never heard anyone in the family mention.

The Swimming Hole: Will Sterling claimed he could stsay underwater longer than anyone alive. Jem was determined to prove him wrong--until Will showed Jem what was hidden beneaith the deepest part of the swimming hole.

  3. I wrote Esther, a rainy day discovery, I based it off of the Little house on the Prairie episode, the Jonathan’s mountain one.
